Vocational Resources works with the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services, which pays a fee for the services provided.  Funding also comes via  private contributions and fundraising events like the Annual VRI Charity Golf Tournament, as well as from grants like those provided by the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham and the Jefferson County Department of Community Development so that no fees are assessed to the employee or employer.

How Volunteers Can Help

  • Donate clothing and equipment that can be used in job training (cash registers, discarded computer equipment, floor buffers, filing cabinets, etc.)

  • Volunteer your time.  We are always in need of help in the office and with special events

  • Keep us informed of job openings.  We need to know about any opportunities available in all areas-office and clerical, administrative, food service, maintenance, managerial, construction, etc.  Any job opening you have, we probably have a willing worker who is qualified to help you.

  • Your suggestions and input are valuable. If you have a special interest in the important work we are doing, we want to hear your ideas.

  • Tax-Deductible Contributions. As a 501(c) (3) nonprofit charitable organization, all donations are fully tax-deductible.  All donations go directly to fund the programs and services of VRI.
